About Us

Community Involvement

MB owners and employees are involved in many different civic, local and professional activities. Each year Manuel Builders has donated a percentage of the profits back into the community. Following is a short list of the community activities our employees have been involved in:

1. Habitat for Humanity
2. Children’s Shelter
3. Bridge Ministries
4. Acadiana Symphony Orchestra
5. Compassion International

In 2012, MB partnered with Compassion International to incorporate a one to one program. Manuel Builders partnered with Compassion International by incorporating a One Home, One Child Program. For each home sold, Manuel Builders donated equal to 12 months of sponsorship to Compassion International’s Unsponsored Children’s Fund. Compassion is committed to helping registered children from day one. This fund bridges the gap between registration and sponsorship by providing learning and educational opportunities, Christian training, social development, and more.
Compassion International exists as an advocate for children in developing countries, to release them from their spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults. Today, Compassion helps more than 1.2 million children in 26 countries. Charity Navigator, America’s largest charity evaluator, has awarded Compassion its highest rating – 4 stars – for ten consecutive years, placing Compassion in the top one percent of all charities.

We invite you to join in the fight to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. To learn more about Compassion International and see children waiting for a sponsor, please visit www.compassion.com.

In addition, Manuel Builders will partner in the near future with Hope International to build a Home for Hope in Acadiana to be sold and all profits donated to Hope International. Hope International is a Christian organization working in many of the world’s poorest places to help families escape poverty through business development. Hope International gives hand-ups not hand-outs through micro-finance. Micro-finance gives small loans (micro-loans) often as small as $50 to poor people who want to start or expand their business in poor countries. These individuals take their loans and build a business with the skill/trade they have developed along with the help of business services and supervision provided by Hope. Their mission is to invest in the dreams of the poor in the world's undeserved communities so that they might be released from physical and spiritual poverty. Hope provides excellent micro-enterprise development and financial services that intentionally and effectively proclaim Jesus Christ in word and action. Loans are paid back to Hope which fund additional loans. Their payback rate is 98%. All profits from the Home for Hope built by MB and assisted by our local trades and vendors, will be donated to Hope International--Building locally to end POVERTY globally.
